Static Tables

DW4_STAGE.STATIC is the place for data that does not change: data too large for a seed file, or legacy transformed data whose jobs were decommissioned.

  • Backups are manual, in DW4_PROD.BACKUP, named Static<OriginalTableName>Backup
  • Refresh the backup manually after any manual update of the source static table
  • When a dbt model is disabled but still needed for history: delete the model, copy its table to DW4_STAGE.STATIC, re-point downstream models to it, and back it up
