Updates to BE Events

Changes to the events sent to the DWH (data type changes, renamed fields) often break pipelines. A GitHub Action, WatchForEventbusDefinitionsChanges, posts them to #event-update-alerts.

  • All events follow the structure in EventbusDefinitions.xml
  • Not every event is parsed in our stage models. Search the event name in the dbt codebase to see if there is an impact
  • If there is, ask the backend team to hold off deploying until we have updated our side. Do this in #event-update-alerts by tagging the QA lead
